Would you be willing to consider a gift that will keep on giving?

One that will bring joy to seniors in the twilight of their lives?

In this most joyous of seasons, we repeat the sounding joy that the Tiers of Joy campaign will bring to the residents, families and visitors of Schmitt Woodland Hills.

This past summer, we launched a two-year campaign to improve our senior living campus for the long-term well-being of our residents, most of whom have deep roots in Richland County.

The Tiers of Joy campaign is composed of three tiers:

  • A new water feature that will provide a beautiful welcome and park-like amenities to the front entrance
  • Safe walking paths for resident exercise and enjoyment
  • Inviting outdoor spaces that will encourage interaction with nature

The SWH Endowment Fund is a means to allow the present generation to share in the future mission of Schmitt Woodland Hills and insure that it will be carried on by future generations. Contributions to this fund will enable those coming after us to continue using our gifts to provide care for area seniors that may not otherwise be possible. Inherent in the concept of an endowment is permanency of the gift principle with only the earnings being available for expenditure. Therefore, the principle of the Fund is restricted and may not be spent. Only earnings from this Fund will be disbursed.

Contributions to this fund are used in their entirety to provide ongoing personalized care to residents who have outlived their financial resources. Gifts to this fund enable Schmitt Woodland Hills to guarantee a lifetime of care to all residents.

These funds are used to pay for special projects or to purchase equipment that our residents or staff has identified as being important to our Mission of providing “quality services and facilities”. You may wish to designate how you would like this gift to be used or to which of any number of projects you would like your gift to be directed.

Including a charitable bequest in your will is a simple way to make a lasting gift to your community. When you make such a gift to a local charity or nonprofit you not only give back to your community but you may also create a wonderful way to recognize a family member, a loved one or someone who has made a difference in your life. Such a gift may also be made for a specific cause or reason such as a new building, expansion of an existing facility or furniture and equipment for these new facilities. This type of memorial gift can be arranged in your will, just the same as you would arrange to leave a personal gift from your estate to a family member or private individual. You just need to make sure that the gift is directed to a specific organization and given in memory of a particular person or for a specific purpose.
