Physical Therapy

Schmitt Woodland Hills provides comprehensive therapy care through our partnership with Aegis. All residents and outpatient clients are evaluated to determine how they will benefit from recuperative or restorative therapy. Residents are eligible to begin therapy the day of admission, providing a continuity of treatment which enhances patient progress.

Physical therapy addresses treatment and the prevention of physical limitations such as pain, weakness, movement problems, poor coordination, gait, and impaired balance. Speech therapy pathologists treat individuals with hearing, language, cognitive disorders, and voice communication problems. They also have advanced training for swallowing disorders and working with Laryngectomy patients. Occupational therapists focus on activities of daily living such as eating, dressing, and basic household manipulations like washing dishes and cooking. The goal is to help individuals regain their independence for a productive and satisfying life.

Occupational Therapy

Our therapists are specially trained to work in a skilled nursing facility. They receive ongoing support and education to be knowledgeable in the latest standards and practices. They work as an integral part of a resident's care team. Families are encouraged to be involved in their loved one's care.
