Activities at Schmitt Woodland Hills
Therapy Services
Schmitt Woodland Hills offers a well equipped therapy area and the full range of therapy services through our partnership with Aegis. All residents and outpatient clients are evaluated to determine how they will benefit from therapy. Residents are eligible to begin therapy the day of admission, providing for continuity of treatment which enhances patient progress.
Pastoral Care
Meeting the spiritual needs of each individual and their family is an integral part of the pastoral care ministry of Schmitt Woodland Hills. Our Chapel on the second floor is available 24 hours a day for personal meditation and prayer. Our Chaplain seeks to allow residents and their families to continue their walk with God. We appreciate the support area congregations offer our residents.
Volunteers and Auxiliary
Everyday the lives of our residents are touched by selfless acts of kindness provided by volunteers. Our residents receive skilled, compassionate care and enjoy the company of others in their age group in our community, but nothing takes the place of a personal visit from family, friends and our volunteers. We offer a myriad of volunteer opportunities.

Discovery Playschool
Discovery Playschool Inc. is a separate program aimed at early learning for 3 to 5 year olds. By offering them space, Schmitt Woodland Hills offers both the children and our residents opportunities to promote intergenerational exchanges. The residents enjoy seeing the children come and go, helping the children with projects, and participating together in special events.
Ocooch Mountain Humane Society
Residents enjoy spending time petting the cats housed at the Ocooch Mountain Humane Society. Located behind the care center campus, the Humane Society staff shares the loving lap cats and kittens with the residents. The animals and the residents benefit from the bonding and attention. Most of our residents have enjoyed the company of pets through the years and welcome the connection with the animals.
