History and Mission Statement

Schmitt Woodland Hills is proud of its roots in the healing and caring ministries of the United Methodist Church. Our Retirement Community was established to "offer older persons a continuum of quality services and facilities with a Christian philosophy." We are guided by our Mission Statement and the Vision and Values derived from it.

Employment Opportunities

Our employees are the heart and soul of creating the supportive, compassionate, and caring environment our residents require. We have both full-time and part-time career opportunities in nursing care, food service, business office and general operations.

Development

Schmitt Woodland Hills was founded as a not-for-profit organization to provide quality services to seniors in a world where most of the organizations are structured as for-profit or government run facilities. We are a 501c3 charitable organization which can accept tax deductable donations of money, property, and other in-kind contributions. Donations are used to enhance current programs, or as benevolence funds which help those in need. In addition, donations can be made to our endowment funds which create a legacy of continuing support. Our development officer stands ready to answer questions about what is needed, offer current information about our Wish List, as well as help work out the practical details of gifting. We are familiar with estate planning techniques, can help work through tax consequences and can arrange ways to help donors meet their objectives.

Social Policy

Schmitt Woodland Hills seeks to protect the privacy rights and dignity of each resident. Seniors are considered for admission without regard to race, creed, religion, or national origin. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Family Care, other insurance and private payments. Schmitt Woodland Hills and its caring staff have the appropriate licenses from Federal and State regulators necessary for each level of care offered.
